Teologia Paulina - Existem dois propósitos primários em oferecer à igreja do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo outro livro sobre Teologia Paulina. Primeiro, há uma necessidade real de um novo ênfase sobre os ensinos particulares de Paulo acerca do tema da vitória Cristã: o facto de que um crente pode e deve ser cheio do Espirito Santo; que, de facto, Deus o ordena; que um crente será julgado por Cristo pela derrota na sua vida Cristã, se ele não evoluir na sua experiência para a maturidade espiritual. Paulo é o grande revelador das riquezas em Cristo do crente. Segundo, existe uma necessidade premente de um critério, um fio condutor, para determinar qual é a verdade da igreja. A igreja sempre teve, e agora tem muito mais, ensinos avançados conflituosos e contraditórios, com provas das Escrituras, anunciados como doutrina da igreja. Existe um critério real? Paulo diz enfaticamente, "Sim". São as suas próprias epístolas, dadas pela "revelação de Jesus Cristo". Ele pronuncia um anátema sobre qualquer desvio do que ele escreve, seja por anjos, homens ou por ele mesmo. Ele faz isto sobre a autoridade de uma "dispensação que lhe foi confiada" e em que ele era "o apóstolo para os Gentios", e que "lhe foi confiado o evangelho". Através desta obra, iremos alargar este tema: "Vá às epístolas de Paulo para procurar a doutrina da sua igreja." Confiamos que esta obra será considerada benéfica como um manual sobre a Teologia Paulina. É forçosamente apenas um estudo de esboço, permitindo haver muito espaço para um aprofundamento na sala de aula. Nós dedicámo-la à glória do nosso grande Deus e Salvador, Jesus Cristo, e entregamo-la ao cuidado do Espírito Santo. 

There are two primary purposes in offering to the church of our Lord Jesus Christ another book on Pauline Theology.
First, there is a real need of a new emphasis on Paul's particular teachings on the subject of Christian victory: the fact that a believer may and should be filled with the Holy Spirit; that, in fact, God commands it; that a believer will be judged by Christ for the defeat in his Christian life if he does not go on in his experience to spiritual manhood. Paul is the great revelator of the believer's riches in Christ. Second, there is a further need for a criterion, a touchstone, to determine just what is church truth. The church has always had, and now has much more, conflicting and contradictory teachings advanced, with scriptural proofs, heralded as church doctrine. Is there a real criterion? Paul says emphatically, "Yes." It is his own epistles, given unto him by "revelation of Jesus Christ." He pronounces an anathema upon any deviation from that by angels, men or even himself. This he does on the authority that "a dispensation was committed to him" and that he was "the apostle to the Gentiles," and that "he was put in trust with the gospel." Throughout this volume we shall enlarge upon this theme: "Go to Paul's epistles to get your church doctrine. " We trust this volume will be found beneficial as a textbook on Pauline Theology. It is perforce only an outline study, allowing much room for classroom enlargement. We dedicate it to the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and commit it to the Holy Spirit's trust.
