The outlines which constitute the present volume are the outcome of preparation for a series of meetings for Christians for the purpose of consecutive study in the books of the Bible. Special circumstances connected with a preceding course rendered it advisable to begin with I. Thessalonians, and herein lies the reason why this Epistle is taken for the commencement of Volume I. […] it is hoped that this first series may, in spite of shortcomings, prove to be of some little help to those who devote time to the study of the Holy Scriptures, and especially to such as do so for the purposes of teaching and ministering the Word of God.
